I followed Terry Britton's advice and uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and it worked! No one was more surprised than me. I haven't tested everything, but I was able to record 4 channels and play them back in my DAW. I'm using a much shorter USB cable and the 828mk3h is plugged into a SS-USB p...

I have this exact issue down to purchasing the 828mk3H used... Did all the basics: Installed the drivers, reset the 828mk3H to factory defaults, updated the the 828mk3H firmware to v1.01, and reset to factory defaults (again).
