Re: Plugin hardware synth editor and DP
"It" can be anything. What are you talking about? Actually “it” refers to the subject of the sentence immediately preceeding it (MicroFreak Editor) which is absolutely standard English usage. But thanks so much for your super helpful feedback. You edited your post to rewrite a quote in my...

Re: Plugin hardware synth editor and DP
For clarities sake, AUi in DP doesn't do MIDI in/out. To get a MIDI editor that presents itself as a MIDI plugin working in DP you probably need to use the VSTi or VSTi3 version. Oddly enough SoundQuest doesn't have this limitation but OP is too busy being offended by perceived micro aggressions to...

Re: Plugin hardware synth editor and DP
I was referring to the recently purchased MicroFreak editor, which I made abundantly clear. It was bought from an indie developer and isn’t Soundquest or any such. I was asking if anyone knows how to instantiate a plugin editor, since it doesn’t show up either as an AU instrument or audio plugin. I ...

Re: Plugin hardware synth editor and DP
Is there anyway to use a hardware-synth editor Plugin in digital performer? I have never been able to figure it out. I recently bought an editor for microfreak. It comes with a standalone version, which works fine, and a plug-in version which is impossible to use in digital performer because there ...

Re: A bug that has bothered me for 20 years
Not “freeze,” just tracking a VI to audio. Actually, it happens sometimes when I’m recording guitar too, but way less often.

A bug that has bothered me for 20 years
Sometimes (seemingly randomly) when I print audio from a VI in DP I will get an enormous transient spike on the first note. Like 20 dB!! I have had this problem for probably 20 years. This is clearly a strange bug. I can work around it by playing a dummy note before the part actually starts and then...

Re: Route Audio From Neural DSP Standalone to DP?
UPDATE: The Apollo’s Console application turns out to be the solution. NOW i finally know what the “Virtual” channels in the Console application are for: exactly this situation, routing Virtual Instruments to the DAW. Happy Camper. (I guess maybe “Virtual” should have been a clue.)

Route Audio From Neural DSP Standalone to DP?
Can anyone explain how I might route audio from the standalone version of a Neural DSP virtual amp into DP? The standalone version has MIDI CC capability that the plugin version—oddly—does not in Digital Performer, because the Neural DSP amps can only be instantiated as an insert on an audio track, ...

Re: New Mac Studio Ultra is generally crashy and unstable
UPDATE: i know it isn’t, but the Mac Studio Ultra is acting as though it’s learning. No crashes In 10 days! In fact everything’s been tickety-boo but for some authorization wonkiness that isn’t the Ultra’s fault. That’s sorted now too. So now I’m getting exactly what I signed up for: great performan...

Smooth sailing is what I expected, of course. I’ll deep dive into anything that might be helpful, as being able to actually record music is one of my life’s main joys.

New Mac Studio Ultra is generally crashy and unstable
After waiting 14 months I took the plunge and bought a Mac Studio Ultra. Spent 14 days getting my system recreated on the new computer. New Mac is generally unstable and crashy running Digital Performer.. Massively disappointing and upsetting. My work on music has ground to a halt. Not sure how to p...

Re: Yet another Mac Studio/Rosetta2 question
Thanks so much for the informative replies. I think I’m edging closer to taking the plunge. It’s still scary, but the changeover to a new rig always is.

Yet another Mac Studio/Rosetta2 question
I have seen people on the forum saying that they are running DP 11 native on M1 max and ultra chips, while certain plug-ins are running under Rosetta 2. In other places I have read that if even one of your plug-ins is Not yet native-capable that the entire daw must run under Rosetta. So, which is it...
