Not sure to see your concern, but inserting a Motu Trim (unity gain), after mastering stage, will tell you the truth about headroom.
Once you are sure about real headroom, you will take the Trim plug out of your master track, before printing master.

Re: "File Not Found (-43)"
Well, FWIW—I turned Time Machine auto-saves back on yesterday and got the error about an hour later. [...] Perhaps this isn't monocausal, but thus far, my observations are that the error doesn't happen when I turn off automatic TM backups and it starts happening again when I turn them back on. Re: Manageable DP Project File Size?
I often work on 6Go projects, on my 16Go ram i7 Macbook-pro. Till today, never a glitch.
IMOE, if there's a limit, it's not about project size, but about CPU heavy plugins and low buffer size.

Re: MOTU Trim Plug-In (issue + suggest alternatives?)
Just my two cents on this: Increasing buffer setting (I often set buffer to 4096) will lead to some delay in transport. I mean, while tracks are playing, if I hit stop button, the tracks will still play for a significant time. So, with high buffer setting, I'm not surprised about some delay in every...

Re: Time stretching multiple soundbites simultaneously
Just in case this may help: Inserting a marker at the very end of a soundbite is easy: - select soundbite in SE - set tranport to pause (transport pannel) - Cmd + 6 (set wiper at soundbite end) - ctrl + M (insert marker) - set name of the marker (or let it go as marker #) - press return key BTW, sam...

Re: What's the word on Ventura and DP and common plug ins?
I can't recall exactly why I left CCC long ago, and went with SuperDuper.
SuperDuper has made a few bootable HD copies, that still boot just fine (now in Monterey OS).
Just noticed that usbHDs are fine, while FWHDs do not boot at all.
SuperDuper support claims it's an Apple limitation.

Re: Setting the default velocity for MIDI events
Not very helpful, but I've sent suggestions to Motu long ago about improving real-time MIDI effects, which are rather poor in regard of non-realtime effects. Never had any response.
DP is a very deep and very efficient app, but DP real-time MIDI effects seem completely outdated to me.

Re: TritonAudio Active Mic boosters — Review
I use Fethead and Fethead phantom for years now.
Very good experience with dynamic mics (RE27ND, 565SD, 545SD,...) and condenser mics (with and without transformer) (Oktava mk220 and mk 012, ...).
To my ears: just gain and no noise.
My go-to when working with low level sounds.

Of course, when trying to insert volume in the track you did hold *P* on your computer keyboard?

FM, in theater projects I'm working on, your idea would be described as:
*at that moment, diegetic music turns into extra-diegetic music*

IMOE, great sounding mic (voice, wind, bass drum, e-guitar...), great filters on board, and no proximity effect at all.
