Re: Mac OS upgrade
DP 5.1.3 runs quite well in Leopard 10.5.8 on a PPC G5. 4.6.1 will work great in OS 10.4.11 >I have never tried Leopard on my G5 and probably never will as I suspect Leo is is designed more for Intel Macs.< Time Machine. End of argument. It is OK that Leopard will be the last version for PPCs. It's ...

Re: Why doesn't Apple set all Macs up this way...
Q: Why doesn't Apple set all Macs up this way... A: Because, for the average user, it is not necessary. In any case, for many of us (myself included) it's a good idea to have a small partition on a backup drive (ideally) or the main drive for running repair/maintenance utilities. Disk Warrior once a...

Re: Commercial General Liability Insurance for performing musici
Does anyone have or know about Commercial General Liability Insurance for performing musicians? I've run into this twice on contracts for providing live music for the city or state. It is the responsibility of the producer. If someone else is hiring you then you aren't the producer. If the band als...

From your link: >To prove copyright infringement, a plaintiff must establish (1) ownership of a valid copyright; (2) factual copying; and (3) substantial similarity< I am not going to play amateur attorney here and I suggest that you follow my example. There are many cases of Copyright infringement ...

Re: Composer's Mosaic 1.58 on Mac OS X?
A G5 running 10.4x should be able to run Classic. It will not boot into OS 9. DP has a module for notation based on Mosaic but, to my knowledge, cannot open Mosaic files. How wrong is that? That MOTU never partnered with another company to allow something else to open those files is ... typical of M...

Maybe he's charging what they're worth?

OK, cheap shot, I know but I just couldn't resist.

Re: What do you pros think of Satriani vs Coldplay suit?
My first thought when hearing some of the comparisons on youtube like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ofFw9DKu_I&feature=related was - damn straight - nailed. Apparently video already pulled due to copyright claim by EMI Music. :( Not sure how they can do that - it is snippets - not th...

That hasn't been true for many years.

Re: Add a MTP-AV to Ultralite-mk3 for pedal patch control?
If you have an MTP, why are you using the MIDI port on your UltraLite? Try using the MTP only for MIDI and see if you can get it working that way. Not knowing the Yamaha, that's the best I can offer.

Yea... MOTU does some really stupid things regarding customer service. I can only see the 5 and 6 upgrades when I log in and I have been a customer since 2.1.

Re: My album is going to press!!!
How are you going to be paid if someone wants to cover your work, use it in a film or play it on radio, TV or the internet? Or is getting paid unimportant (if so, don't read the following)? If you aren't a member of a PRO (ASCAP, BMI or SESAC in the USA), do a publisher name search and get the proce...
