Re: Piano UFS Crashes MachFive2
Is disk streaming turned off? If so, MachFive is probably just choking on trying to load an 8 GB preset (since MachFive isn't 64-bit).

Re: Automate MIDI Output
You can't automate changes to the MIDI output assignment of the DP track, but you could use keyswitching or some other kind of scripting/rules in Kontakt to switch between articulations.

Re: Masterworks Collection arrives . . .
does anyone really know what features or ability's make MAS better. I understand the ramp vs stair stepping part but is there anything else that makes MAS superior? MAS supports multiple MIDI ports, while AU doesn't. Personally, I haven't found that to be a practical limitation, but I understand th...

Unisyn is only for hardware synths, not software, so it wouldn't be of any help in your particular situation.

Re: Move Track From V-Rack
One exception would be plug-ins that use MIDI for automation, such as MOTU's instruments that aren't included with DP (e.g. MachFive, BPM, etc.). For those, you can automate with MIDI in your sequence.FMiguelez wrote:Unfortunately, you can't automate anything that is on a V-Rack.

Re: Move Track From V-Rack
Unfortunately there's not just a simple command that you're overlooking, but there are slightly kludgey ways to make it happen. - Drag the V-Rack from the Chunks window into your sequence. This will copy all of the tracks in the V-Rack into the sequence. Keep the ones you want, delete the ones you d...

Re: Cannot get Ethno 1.01 to work as VST in Win 7 (64-bit)
Related question: Does Ethno 2 work as a VST in Win 7? And does it include the instruments from Ethno 1? If the answer to both of these is 'yes' I might just go ahead and upgrade. Otherwise I'm going to give up on Ethno and get EWQL RA or Silk. Yes, as a 32- and 64-bit VST; and yes, the Ethno v2 li...

If you make changes to any of your preferences, and DP crashes before you can quit normally, those preference changes might not write to disk.

Not sure about the others offhand, but this one is definitely a general QuickTime behavior that isn't new (useful all the same).MIDI Life Crisis wrote:1- Double clicking in the movie window starts playback. Click again (once) to stop.

Re: Stretch 2 in Cubase 5
Are you triggering the loop via MIDI, or using auto-play? If auto-play, only loops in Slice mode will auto-play; if using Sample, Stretch 1, or Stretch 2, you have to trigger the loop with a MIDI note.

Pure speculation, but after seeing the "Ethernet port for future connectivity" that appears on the new Apogee box, I'm wondering if they have some new Ethernet-based protocol coming down the tubes. Mac Pros do have two Ethernet ports.Shooshie wrote:Doesn't have Light Peak or even USB 3.0.

Are you running with a small buffer size? Stretch 2 sounds good, but it's definitely CPU heavy. Try bumping up the buffer size as a test.

Re: New iMacs and Magic Trackpad out
This trackpad looks interesting. I have a Bluetooth mouse for my Mac mini that's connected to the TV, but a regular mouse isn't particularly well-suited for the "coffee table in front of the TV" scenario and as a result I rarely actually use it. This trackpad has the potential to be a bett...
