Re: DP's clock source
It might be that the RME driver always presents a single clock source to host applications, regardless of how the hardware is actually clocked. That is, as far as host software is concerned the driver only has a single option for clock source, but the RME control panel app provides access to whateve...

Re: Two DP icons in Leopard dock
Do you have the Digidesign Core Audio driver installed (/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/HAL/Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin), and also the Apple Software Synth enabled in DP (Setup menu > Interapplication MIDI)? I've seen what you're describing on my own system, and somehow or another discovered that connection...

Re: Toggle track enablement with MIDI?
Can the iOS app you're using send MIDI notes instead of CCs? If so, you can toggle a track's play-enabled state with a MIDI note via the "Track Play Enable" command (search the Commands list for it). You can invoke the Track Play Enable command via keyboard shortcut or a MIDI event, like ...

Re: 64bit?
You're entitled to your opinion, but it's a bit of a stretch to think that MOTU is phasing out DP because of the time it's taking to move to 64-bit. See this previous thread, with a video of Matt LaPoint discussing 64-bit DP: http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=45272 (The thread...

Re: How to create multiple Aux tracks?
"Add multiple aux tracks" is in the Commands list (Setup menu), so you can assign any keyboard shortcut you want. In fact, if you assign that command to the "Add aux track" keyboard shortcut + Option key, you will get the same behavior in the Add Track menu as with audio and MIDI...

Re: MachFive 3 at NAMM
Two questions - Will MachFive 3 run on a G5? MOTU hasn't yet announced the system requirements for MachFive 3, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was Intel-only. For some context: Pro Tools 9, Logic 9, Cubase 6, and Kontakt 4 are all Intel-only, and it's only a matter of time until DP is as well. An...

Re: how does EK assign MIDI ins?
i can't seem to find any actual documentation for electric keys, btw... not that much is needed as i guess it mostly "just works", but surely there must be a manual somewhere? (it doesn't seem to show up on my install or other discs...) A printed manual is included. It's thin — there's no...

Re: how does EK assign MIDI ins?
If you have your Electric Keys soundbank files, BFD files, and your project on the same hard drive, you could be experiencing disk streaming issues. In Electric Keys, click the MOTU logo in the upper left to open the streaming settings, and try raising those values. There are no hard & fast guid...

Re: how does EK assign MIDI ins?
If you have three MIDI tracks and three instances of Electric Keys, assign the MIDI tracks to EK-1 A:1, EK-2 A:1, and EK-3 A:1. (Each instance of Electric Keys publishes 16 channels of MIDI input, but it only receives MIDI on channel A:1.)

You could also use Bite Volume automation, which always stays married to the soundbite.

Re: How Do I Transfer MIDI Data From BPM Into a Logic 9 Trac
Hold Option/Alt then click & drag the word PATTERN (above BPM's pattern menu, just above BPM's transport controls) to Logic's Arrange window.
