Quantizing acoustic guitar audio
Has any one had any success quantizing audio with acoustic guitar? I have an acoustic guitar track that is very "strummy". After hours of tracking and millions of takes the guitar player still didn't give a solid performance. I have tried analyzing beat detection and quantizing beats withi...

Re: Recent Pops and Clicks
Not sure if you figured this out fully yet or not. I had the same (or at least similar) problem. I updated to DP 8.05 and was running OS 10.8.5. I was at that point in the middle of a project with quite a bit of audio recorded. I then updated to Mavericks (against my better judgment - I had a weak m...

Re: Antares Plugins with DP8
32 bit that totally makes sense especially because they work in DP 7. I'll see what the prices are when they release the 64 bit modes. Thanks so much for the info.

Antares Plugins with DP8
I just upgraded to DP8 and none of my Antares plugins are showing up anywhere. They still show up fine in my DP 7.24. I am talking specifically about Auto-Tune Evo, Articulator, Choir, Duo, Harmony effects, Mutator, Punch, and Throat. Anyone have any idea why?

Re: Anyone Use the Mackie MCU Pro?
Thanks for the info. I thought the MCU had it's own internal computer that would record fader and pot movements. But's thats ok, I would much prefer to have the automation done in the DAW anyway. The only thing I thought might be good about writing the automation information in the MCU is it would s...

Re: Anyone Use the Mackie MCU Pro?
ah good point. So as long as I arm the automation to record in the DAW I would be all good. The only time to record the automation on the Mackie and not the DAW is if I were mixing down to an external medium. Ok totally makes sense. Thanks!

Anyone Use the Mackie MCU Pro?
I am looking at the Mackie MCU Pro and trying to decide if mixing on a control surface vs. mixing within the DP software is worth it for me. My biggest question about the Mackie MCU Pro is: if you write automation on the Mackie itself and do a bounce to disc in DP (which is how I do my mix downs to ...

How To Uninstall Individual Plug Ins
I purchased a couple plug ins from Antares. I registered the plug ins I bought but when I went to download them I accidentally downloaded the whole bundle vs. going into custom install and selecting only the plug ins I bought. Now I have a bunch of unregistered plug ins. How do I uninstall the plug ...

Need Help WIth A MIDI Latency Problem
I just got an Alesis DM5 electronic drum kit that I want to use as a MIDI Controller. I use the Superior Drummer 2.0 software by Toontrack and really like the sampled kits they make for the program. I am plugging the DM5 directly into the MIDI ports of my MOTU 828 MKII and it is the only MIDI Device...

Re: ProTools -> DP6 and back again
I have done quite a few projects where we record drums in a Pro Tools studio and then import the tracks into my DP studio at home. I would have to say I completely agree with Tonio Ruiz. If you have any tracks with edits in them (multiple regions) merge the files (or regions) or bounce them to a new...

Re: Pitch Analysis - Duh?
I have tried using DP's pitch shifting and time stretching tools and I could never get it to work very well. It could be me though. However, I use Melodyne and I personally think it's awesome. I have heard it is pretty comparable to Elastic Audio although I don't have any experience with EA. Dependi...

Re: Has Anyone Ever Had This Problem with Melodyne?
I do this almost every time I post to this site...I think I found the answer on Celemony's website in their informative FAQ section just minutes after I posted this question. For anyone who has ever wondered the answer to what I just asked... [MelodyneBridge] Melodyne's audio output 'dies' as soon a...

Has Anyone Ever Had This Problem with Melodyne?
I should start out by saying what I currently am running...DP 5.13 on an Intel iMac (3.06 GHz w/ 4 gigs of RAM) with Melodyne Studio 3.22 using the Melodyne bridge to transfer audio and Melodyne processed audio back and forth from my host (DP) and Melodyne (running as a stand alone - NOT THE MELODYN...
