I’m keeping my old Mac and I feel fine
My trusty workhorse 2010 Mac Pro 5.1 Quadcore is a victim of changing times. I can’t upgrade to Mojave (well, not officially or safely, although some guys over on Facebook’s Mac Pro Upgrade group have successfully installed it on their 5.1’s). In fact I’m still on 10.12.6 and my machine runs trouble...

Re: Auto tune guitar
I use Melodyne to tune guitar tracks often. Not all the time, as guitars are truly never in tune (physically impossible) but just when it is absolutely horrendous. I have some sample-based guitar VI’s that are way out of tune, so to speak, although they sound amazing. One is Amplesound’s TC II Telec...

Can't believe I never tried this before
For the first time ever, I tried recording a guitarist plugged straight into my audio interface, and into a DP track with Amplitube 4 inserted on it, with record mode set to "Blend". The latency was negligible, and it only added about 8% CPU consumption on my aging 2010 Quadcore Mac. Up ti...

Maybe re-install?Gravity Jim wrote:I'm always the "everything's running fine here" guy, but DP 10 is a bust for me. Crashed before playing a note 3 times in a row on my system. Wish I had just downloaded the demo instead of assuming.

Re: Mojave and Bias Peak 7
Just get DSP Quattro 5. It works a lot like Peak..
and then some. Sounds like Peak, but better.
Has all of the Peak editing features..and more.
I too looked for a long time for a Peak replacement.
DSP Quattro 5 was released and that was the
end of my search.

Re: Waves Tune
Isnt there a free demo of Waves Tune you can try? Anyway, I have had Waves Tune for years. IMO, might be the worst of all the pitch correction softwares I’ve tried. For me...DP’s pitch correction and time-stretching are the apex of sound quality, and it is my go-to for pitch correction and time-stre...

Re: Cannot get DP 9.5.2 to recognize Izotope Nectar 3{SOLVED
Actually there is a LOT new in Nectar 3. Download
the demo and check it out. It is basically a new
plugin.

Re: Cannot get DP 9.5.2 to recognize Izotope Nectar 3 (AU)
Solved the issue. Apparently on install, Nectar 3 did not pass AU validation. I had DP re-examine the plugin and it passed. Working fine here.
MLC, thanks for the reply. How does one set DP to run both AU and VST plugins simultaneously?

Cannot get DP 9.5.2 to recognize Izotope Nectar 3{SOLVED}
Anyone else having this problem? I installed Nectar 3 yesterday, there it sits in my Library/Audio/Plugins/Components folder, other apps such as Logic or DSP Quattro 5 see it. But when I open DP, Nectar 3 does not appear as an available AU plugin. It does appear as a VST plugin, but my primary forma...

Re: Can’t get rid of unwanted movie window playback
It was an mp3 sitting in a folder of other mp3 mixes elsewhere on my drive. Not from another DP project. Weird. Anyway, all good now, I solved the issue by creating a new blank project and then using the “Load” command to load the sequence from the problem project..it did not result in the mp3 being...

Re: Just encountered the most mental authorization scheme ye
I’m surprised that Synth Magic’s authorization is
so convoluted. This is a new development, as
previous products (like Zom Zom, their Polymoog
VI) didnt require any serial number at all.

Can’t get rid of unwanted movie window playback
It happened again. Working on a project, started playback, a “ghost track” started playing whenever I engaged play. Turned off all tracks except the master fader...still heard the “ghost track” playing. Opened the movie window..there it was, the movie window is playing back an mp3. I had no idea how...

Re: Interesting test, iZotope Ozone RX Radius vs DP time str
Whatever the case, I find DP 9.52’s time stretching
to be stellar. Especially compared to previous versions
of DP. Before ZTX was implemented, DP’s
“Adjust soundbite to sequence tempo” command
resulted in audio that was almost useless.

DP automatically stretches imported soundbites when tempo is
Yesterday I was working on a project with an imported reference track the client sent me. It lined up on my grid at the tempo the client said it was recorded at (94 bpm). I changed the song’s tempo to 92 bpm and the reference track snapped to the new tempo immediately (or seemed to, anyway). Is this...
