Hey all,
The MixPosse app is back in action. Permission issues on a file and a couple of other small changes.
Many apologies,
Jeff

 Uh Oh...listen guys, we are actually preparing to switch over to a new version of the BBS. We had major space and bandwidth issues on our old server and the old version of the BBS. In our transition over to the new server, some of our stuff got wacked. I am still finding little bits here and...

Hi Larry, What you speak of is exactly what we do over at the MixPosse forum http://www.mixposse.com I am an admin there and I can tell you that the folks are very talented, very helpful and very nice. Essentially, for members, there are mixes available to download, you mix them, you post your final...

I use the Onyx in conjunction with an RME fireface, and another set of analog pre's all in a 4 space rack case. I am mixerless and mobile and it works great for me. The cost of that rig is quite a bit more than the cost of a 1620. If you need a mixer that functions as an interface to a DAW, then I t...

Hi! The two pieces have a different purpose, and a different market. The 800R is designed for people who already have a digital interface to their DAW, but want to add additional mid range pre's to their setup in a one rack space unit. The 1620 with Firewire option is designed to be a basic DAW inte...

I agree with Timeline on testing methodology 100%. Further to your question, you have not specified if you are running VI's, nor have you said how many other tracks will be running while tracking the new ones. If you are running say 16 mono tracks with effects and a couple VI's so the singers can ge...

I have a unit with BB's on channels 3 and 4. I like to use those for my overheads, tames the intense brightness just enough and adds a nice fatness to the toms and crack to the snare. I am using AT 4041's for OH mics. I usually run Snare top and Kick inside through the Sytek channels 1 and 2. I enjo...

Who says it has to be one interface? I use an RME Fireface 800, and a Mackie Onyx800R conncted lightpipe. That would get you 18 in across firewire. I use an external pre(sytek MP4-A) to feed the fireface analog ins, 2 of the fireface pres which are excellent, and the onyx pres straight in lightpipe,...

Mostly tracking the same sources for different projects, so your're right - it isn't a huge deal....the improved sound quality of the RME over the MOTU would be much more important for sure. I had an older 24i clocked with an aardsyncII, the RME sounded warm, fat, deep and detailed, in comparison. ...

Not to my knowledge, but you can download the manual as a PDF right off their site in the downloads section and dig into the finer points. I would say that is not a major stumbling block. Once you have done your inputs, you name 'em whatever you want in DP, and away you go. The TotalMix enviroment i...

Works great Live and in the Studio. No problem with DP, worked flawlessly from the first moment I did my channel assignments. No problem for me using lightpipe from my ONYX800R into it. Great AD/DA (much better converters and clock than the 828mkII) Nice pre's Amazing routing options. Rock solid dri...

I have Finis, Equium and Inspector XL all of which are excellent. Finis doesn't leave noticeable artifacts, but in my opinion, it also doesn't crush the living snot out of things the way other limiters do either. It is pretty low on overhead too, so for individual track limiting it is very successfu...

several years ago I purchased a 1604 VLZ pro. About 6 monthis into ownership, I started having similar problems. I noticed when I pressed the access plate on the bottom of the unit, things got better(Or Worse depending). Turns out it was the ribbon cable, I am sure anyone else here reading this who ...

OK that makes sense. The last truly obvious question (I am sorry for this) The tracks you had in DP were set to have AN9 and AN10 as the inputs from the fireface, rather than say, ADAT9 and ADAT10? You would still be sending the analog 9 and 10 out your monitoring through totalmix, but selecting som...
