Re: After save - unexpectedly quit
It happens to me, that after executing the save command DP 5. 11 unexpectedly quits, of course without saving. I have the impression, this happens more often if I use a very big project - in terms of a long timeline. ( We record radio plays and series often with 30 tracks over a 10 hours long timel...

This month's article is here http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/apr07/articles/dpworkshop_0407.htm It has a link to the previous article. You might have to subscribe, buy the issue, or buy the pdf. The on line subscription is well worth the price. Application notes are useful and reviews are well done.

This month and last month in SOS there are articles on running DP on networked Macs so both MIDI and Audio can be managed across multple machines. The configuration they use has a MacBook as a processor attached to a main DP based DAW. They discuss some of the anomolies that happen, as well as laten...

Thought so. Just hoped someone would know so i don't have to wait until next week for answer. I can get it up and running ok, but anticipate that I'll have to start from scratch and do all the set up stuff again when this gets fixed.grimepoch wrote:Sounds like you need to fire off an email to MOTU.

How to Authorize over an older Authorization
My copy of DP 5.11 has at last arrived. I installed it this morning, and on launching, instead of asked me to enter a serial number or authorize it, it simply started up with someone's name, not mine, in the flash panel. My G5 was not new when I got it so I can only assume the previous owner had DP,...

Is the Waves problem specific to Intel, and V5? Or does it reach back to PPC and earlier versions (V4)?Shooshie wrote:I guess I'll be holding off on the upgrade for a while. Waves is saying no to it. Here's my reasoning:
So I'm gonna just walk this one. I hope we hear from Waves very soon.

Watch out for the defrag times with iDefrag. I bought it a couple of months ago but found it unusable as it was going to take as much as a day(!) to defrag a 60gb iBook drive. There is no demo worth speaking of - the demo they offer will only defrag a 100mb drive. Did you actually let it finish? If...

However, consolidating free space on the System/App drive seems to only become an issue when the drive is getting rather full - I have some 30% of the drive open, so I have plenty of large, free chunks for caches, etc. You're quite right. The key making sure you keep a significant piece of that dri...
