I hate the dock...

I'm sorry to vent, but I'm not liking the Dock at all. I think it's a waste of screen space... and the "Hide" thing doesn't help. One example is that in DP, if you save a screen set with bottom edge of a DP window in the area where the dock would be if it were not hidden, upon recall of th...

Kubi... you're da bomb! That did the trick. I opened the AIFF exported by DP in SoundHack, saved a copy, and then I could encode the copy with AudioCatalyst. I haven't A/B'd them closely, but my first impression is that there's a little more high-end in the AudioCatalyst conversion. Some of my best ...

Adding artwork to one's own MP3's

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what pixel size is used to add the artwork to MP3s? I found an app that lets me do this but I'm not sure of the dimensions to use.

Just a thought: Would saving a copy in SoundHack (or any other app, really) solve the AudioCatalyst problem? i.e. save an AIFF from DP4.52, open it in Soundhack, save a copy as AIFF, then try opening in AudioCatalyst? Like I said, just a thought. Have no idea about any of the above mentioned issues...

Have you seen or tried the newest download at MOTU ? It has something to do with exporting, core audio, quicktime and so on. No... hadn't checked yet... thanks for the heads up!!! UPDATE: It says these are for DP 4.6. I wonder if this also will help if I'm using 4.52. I've been having stuck MIDI no...

Damn, You must have whipped out ResEdit. Now that's Old Skool... Yeah... actually it was an OS X program called Quick Change that lets you edit Type/Creator info. I was hoping that might make the file readable by this app, but it didn't. Somehow there's something different about the file,...

Classic MP3 Encoder can't read AIFF files exported from DP

Hey all... I encountered this the other night. I wasn't sure I liked the L.A.M.E. MP3s produced from Bounce to Disk in DP 4.52, so I decided I'd bounce to an AIFF and then convert to MP3 using a Classic app-- Xing Audio Catalyst. I liked the results of this app, so I wanted to compare. It would give...

Thanks.

Who's "Jim?"

I don't know the ins and outs of this software because I installed it in quite a hurry when I was having problems with UBB.

Next thing you know, poof, there's a PDF version And that is a bad thing how? It's a bad thing in that the existence of a PDF manual would make it easy for people who have an illegal copy of Digital Performer to use it in a worthwhile manner as it's a very deep and complex application. This thread ...

I guess I'll assume you're talking about recording? Or live? Actually I suppose the only difference might be that in recording you're more likely to try some condensors and mics that might be more fragile/expensive, whereas live gigs you want to go with dynamics. Although dynamics work great in stud...
