Re: M6 monitoring IN SYNC both click from DP and live kbd
At the end of it all, it was, I guess as no real surprise, that I needed to update the driver. I had thought that notices about updates would appear automatically as they do in DP, but, well...

Re: M6 monitoring IN SYNC both click from DP and live kbd
Signal flow, latency, audio, MIDI… I mean… I was kinda put off by the assumption that I needed a quick refresher in how things work. I don’t. 8) Now… why would the keyboard matter, when all I’m doing is sending MIDI out of it (local control off), to DP. DP spits the MIDI back to the kbd. The kbd gen...

Re: M6 monitoring IN SYNC both click from DP and live kbd
I’m not sure how to answer all of this… Not because I’m new to this (been doing this for over 30 years), but, well… OK… first off, the usual 3-5 milliseconds of latency are totally fine. Otherwise does any of the info I’ve already provided give a clue as to what’s going on, especially the part about...

Re: M6 monitoring IN SYNC both click from DP and live kbd
Hmmmm… ok. It’s a Yamaha S90ES. I guess that leads to another question, though…What could be the difference or why would it matter?
Thanks, much.

M6 monitoring IN SYNC both click from DP and live kbd RESOLVED
Thanks in advance for pointing me in the right direction. So... The goal is to record what I play from the kbd using it's internal sounds. There are no issues using it as a controller for VI's and PI's. Latency (or lack of ) is awesome. But, when I go to use an internal sound from the kbd, I either ...

Re: Importing a tempo/meter map
As long as the audio is not chopped up into lots of regions that could be affected by changing the tempo & meter, it should be ok. It’s not, thankfully. And they all start at the same point, whatever that point may be… Yes, if the audio is time-stamped in a way that is compatible with DP, then ...

Re: Importing a tempo/meter map
Ok, dragging the file into the chunks window is a good tip. Thanks. I’ll start there. Now, how best to bring the audio in and sync the movie with it. There’s always the hit-or-miss/trial-and-error method, but it seems that I should simply be able to get the right info from the client and be done wit...

Importing a tempo/meter map
Thanks in advance for going through this and offering suggestions. I hope that this is the proper forum for this post. I'm working with a client that supplies a .mid file, with tempo and meter info embedded. A good thing. But, starting with a fresh DP file, I assume that I just drag the .mid file on...

Mismatched MIDI assignments after reloading
This involves Vienna Pro Sever… And sorry, maybe a bit long-winded…. Honestly, I don’t know if this is a Vienna thing or Digital Performer thing… I’ve also emailed Vienna tech support, and this is largely a copy/paste from that email. Thanks in advance for weighing in Working on a TV series with mul...

Re: Fans going crazy...
IDK if this will help or not, but I use iStat Menus, which among other features, has a pretty nifty fan control utility. I use mine to ramp up the fans when certain temperature sensors do their thing in all of my Macs. Because it takes over control of the fans from the OS, maybe that would help wit...

Re: Fans going crazy...
I read that. So what? If an app generates more heat than the cooling system can handle, the fans will go nuts. A partly clogged cooling system in an eight year old MBP is the most likely cause. All the hail Mary’s sound somewhat plausible, but then I have to ask what about the crazy kernel process ...

Re: Fans going crazy...
Thanks for the reply. That’s why I was clear about it only being while DP is active. Likewise the info about temps. It’s not a situation that happens every time, all the time. I read that. So what?
