Re: Optical disk authorization - that is too silly to be tru
I remember reading a forum post, mentioning that Dvd sharing does not work in this case and one needs a physical drive connected to the computer that needs authorizing. I will probably start up kids' old G4 mini with DP DVD in target disk mode and connect it to my MBP. This way my MBP will see the d...

Optical disk authorization - that is too silly to be true
There has been a topic about MacBook Air and Optical drive authorization scheme. Some years have passed and Apple is producing more and more computers without an optical drive. Some of them are capable of handling "real" DAW work quite well. I have i5 15'' MBP, 2010 model. With 8GB RAM it ...

Re: MACH FIVE 3 IS LIVE!!!
I am going to wait with ordering Kontakt 5 update. Would like to get M5v3 instead. Two main questions: * does M5v3 have something similar to K4 memory server. NI introduced a memory server concept with K4 which allowed users to load samples into separate memory space, thus elegantly overcoming 32-bi...

Re: DP 7.24, Lion, Plug-in compatibility
Thanks Alfred,
I also found a thread on this very same forum where a user reports that UltraLite mk3 is working after driver reinstall.

DP 7.24, Lion, Plug-in compatibility
Hello, I am currently running 7.24 under 10.6.8. Because I do not have an idle computer to try Lion compatibility, I am asking this here. I do need some plugins to work in DP 7.24 when (and if) I switch to new OS. One of the plugins I need is Kontakt. NI has announced that there is a problem with 64...

Re: Tried to get 7.1...
I am failing to get 7.1 update for a different reason. I buy updates form German distributor and somehow they do not update the info in the central MOTU database. The result of this is that the latest update offered by MOTU to me is 6.03. I did get 7.01 and 7.02 updates via direct download links... ...

Re: Apple explains benefits of 64 bit mode
I dont find purging manually a big problem. It is actually not a problem at all: by default, Kontakt manages samples, hosted by memory server, automatically. I have chosen the manual approach, I could as well have it all unloaded automatically. The other advantage of the memory server: * with 64-bit...

Re: Apple explains benefits of 64 bit mode
As explained before, the advantage of the host app. being 64-bit is mainly for VIs loading samples in RAM. The memory limitation of 32-bit apps is really too small, nowadays CPUs can handle a lot of RAM. I am very happy with NI-s approach, started in Kontakt 3.5 and continued in Kontakt 4. The possi...

Good idea! Motu should offer a FREE Mach5 for existing customers that have bought Ethno.Maxidingue wrote:but the ethno librairie work fine with Mach5![]()

Re: Not working in Snow Leopard
I agree, this has taken way too long. Looks like they are not interested in Ethno any more. The embarassing thing is that they are still selling it. There should be a big red warning: Ethno is NOT compatible with current Macintosh operating system... of course there isn't.

Moving instrument from normal track to vrack
Hello, I have to ask this question here only because I am on travel and there was no way I could have taken the 30000-page 35 kg DP 7 manual with me. At home I would look it up in a few minutes. So here goes: I need to move an instrument track (Kontakt 4 for example) from normal instrument track in ...

Re: Digital Performer 7.02 and 6.03 maintenance updates
I purchased my DP 7 update (as well as DP6 update earlier) from Klemm-Musik, Germany. As usual, my download page shows only DP6 updates (half a year after DP6 update was out I still saw only DP5 updates etc.) Can anyone give a direct link to DP7.03 update? If anyone doubts... I do have an invoice fr...

Motu Symph Patches in Mach5. Tunings?
Hello, wise ones. I have MSI and I think that MSI has some nice barocque organ sounds. The only "slight" problem is that I cannot change tuning in MSI, equally tempered tuning is the only option. I can open MSI soundbank in UVI Workstation which, alas!, provides no tuning options. As I und...
