I am currently working with someone who has been sued by the majors for copyright infringement. The siple facts are that this man is first generation laborer who makes a bare mimum living. This person works for wealthier folks and lives in and among them. He tries to give his son all the advantages ...

In my opinion the quads came out to boost sales in the period between the intel announcement and shipping. Yeah its looks great but I already have a dual processor that serves me well. I noticed in another thread where someone had recently gotten a quad and claims that because he can now load more i...

Hey Frodo, long time. I think I'll wait a bit on the quad. Nice but not needed yet and certainly not so desperately needed that I am willing to be the guinea pig like I was with the original G5s. Right now I am interested in instruments. I have come to the conclusion that software instruments just d...

Plain and simple I for one do not want to be complicit in theivery. I hope this guy writes a wonderful hit song on his stolen DP and some unscrupulous music exec steals it, makes millions, and gives him nothing but pain for the rest of his life. "Thou shall not steal" or something like tha...

Re: Any former Logic Pro Users Here?

I have been a DP user for a while, that was my first program. I have Logic 6 but never took to it very well. It just seemed cumbersome to usse compared to DP and, the version I got did not come with the cool instruments. It was the top of the line at the time but for some ****ed up reason there were...

Re: Just HAVE to share!

Although once the instrument is in the mix, the difference is less of a factor if at all. The insturment is hardly as important as the way it is played. That will always be true. It seems that there has been a resurgance in the populatrity of Hammonds. I think it is more bragging rights than actual ...

Re: Calling all UAD-1 users!

Another vote for UAD-1. They really do sound great. The Cambridge EQ is nice, the compressors are great etc. What they all said above. Also, for musicians that are not specifically engineers, the presets are a good starting point and give you a road map of some of the uses for the plugs. Now that I ...

There is something new out there I believe they are called Ultrasone or something like that. I am interested in these and wonder if anyone knows what I am talking about and would care to comment.

Constant Freezes of DP on Mac G5

I am using DP 4.5 (was 4.12 until two days ago though for these purposes it seems to make no difference) in a dual 2.0 G5. Native Instruments Kontakt is among the plug-ins I use. I have been getting an inordinate number of crahses lately and it appears to be related to Kontakt in some way. MOst of t...

Re: How does one repair permissions?

Thanks sdfalk. I figured it was simple but it is always best to check a bit first. By the way, is this something that can correct an abubdance of crashes. I realize it is all circumstantial but given the right criteria, is this fix at least in the ball park?
