It's not anywhere near as bad as other light versions. For one thing there aren't track-count limits IIRC.
There are limits to track counts. If there weren’t it would be a lot more useful.

16 Audio, 16 MIDI, 16 Aux

Performer Lite has other things that make it unacceptable, IMO, including the lack of the Waveform Editor, windows in different locations than DP's, inability to create User Templates and inaccurate documentation. I work with a few PL users and know the workarounds but I really wish that they would upgrade to DP.

MOTU does update the PL docs when I find yet another mistake but they do so by deleting the incorrect pages instead of correcting them.

Stationary is a workaround for templates. It’s no surprise that a few of the editors are not included. But the rest of it is a mystery. It can’t be much of a help to MOTU to be confusing new customers with poor documentation,

Perhaps the entire project is outsourced.

I have tried Performer Lite and was confused, frankly speaking. I couldn't do anything properly.

For example, I have tried to enable MIDI multitrack recording, but there is no a such option. I need routing to different channels through various MIDI devices.

For about 2 years ago I read about "some problems" that M4 has on M1 Apple processors. I was then hesitating. I love to see loopback option in M4 (and or M2) actually!

Well it sounds like that must've been the worst advice I've ever given online.

Sorry foorere. There I was thinking I could get you out of having to spend any money. :banghead:

I am still on demo, 10 days left. I have pretty intensive project ahead that I would test on DP, so I will try to evaluate as much as I can.

Side note I got curious about your avatar, now I have a new composer to listen to.

The M2/4/6 can use Core Audio on a Mac or the MOtu drivers. There has never been a problem using either on an M1/2/3 Mac when booted from the System drive.

If booted from an external drive, there are many apps and drivers that cannot be installed over Apple Silicon due to certain types of .kxt files. The MOTU audio drivers are among those that will not work. This is an Apple thing and there is no workaround.

Loopback has been there from the beginning but it requires the MOTU drivers on a Mac. Windows has no Core audio option so must use the drivers that enable Loopback.
