Find tempo between two locked markers

Dear Community,

I hope this hasn't been asked before (for instance, it seems to go quite into this: http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtop ... rs#p392081).

I have a project with quite a few locked markers. What I'd like to do is to adjust the tempo just between those two markers to a certain amount of bars, without changing anything after the second marker.

So, for instance, I'd like to set a tempo between markers 4 and 5 to have 5 4/4 bars in between.

I've consulted the manual and fiddled around with "find tempo" quite a lot, but I didn't manage to do this. My current solution was to drag the tempo in the conductor track until it sort of lines up with the marker...but I'm very confident that DP offers a much better solution to that.

Thanks for any help,
Remo

Anyone? I could still not figure out how to accomplish this. A solution would be a tremendous help for my current project.

Thanks,
Remo

Your request is a bit ambiguous. Do you want to change the tempo (as stated) or the meter or do you want to re-bar the music?

Thanks for your answer. I'd like to change the tempo to fit x bars in a specific signature between two locked markers.

Go to the Tracks Overview page (or just Tracks). Now on the Conductor Track, make a selection of the bars you want between these two markers: For instance if you want five 4/4 bars between Marker 4 and 5 you have to select the first five bars that comes right after Marker 4. The selection has to be done on the Conductor track or else it wont work. Then go to Region > Scale tempos. Select "Scale all tempos to fit new end time". Select "Frames". In the text box you have to enter the exact frame number (timecode) that you have at Marker 5, and then Apply.

DP will change the tempo to make those five bars you selected fit in between Marker 4 and 5, and you should now see five 4/4 bars between Marker 4 and 5.

I hope this is helpful.

Edit: The selection has to be done on the Conductor track or else it wont work.

I myself struggled with this exact same problem a week ago, but found this method here:

Thanks for your help, that sounds very useful. I'll try this asap (currently abroad) and let you know if it worked.

I've been trying this and it's not working. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Probably something simple I'm missing. Here's a link to a video of me attempting to scale tempos where nothing happens. I have gotten it to work before on the same project, but now nothing. Any insight is appreciated.

There doesn’t appear to be any data to process in your video.

I'm only setting the tempo between markers in the conductor track. I didn't think I'd need MIDI notes in a track. I'll try adding junk data. I'm setting up a tempo map to hit cues in a movie clip.

I just added a MIDI track with a few notes. I get the same result. No change.

I'm in the studio. I'll take another look at this now.

I'm not using markers here but that should be irrelevant.

Scale Time movie

A few times that I tested this it did not work, but I may have been sloppy and not set the parameters properly. Maybe if you see what my settings are in the video it might give you a clue?

Hope that's helpful.
