Ah, my sense of logic (not the app) has been disrupted.

I figured Public Beta 2 would not re-introduce the problem. My bad. It's back of course.

NI? Knock, knock. Anyone home???

Back to Rosetta I go...

I’ve sent it all in to Apple and NI and have updated my Tech Link.

That's because you rock, Mike!

And we both have the same machine so we can always compare notes along the way with things.

macOS Public Beta 14.5 (2) dropped this evening. My only issue with 14.5 was the occasional crash of DP when I deleted a track and that happened only three times — although once was a MIDI track with Kontakt 7.9.0 on ot, the other two weren't. I've a Studio M2 Ultra. I''m hoping that these random crashes stop. Wee'll see…
K7 fails on initial plugin scan.
Not seeing this at all.

Are you shutting down and rebooting before trying to load? Kontakt and Komplete have been requiring that since DP 8 or 9 for me.
Yes I've rebooted almost everytime I install or re-install something. I've tried both ways.
Surprisngly, the 14.5 Beta is working pretty good and I am able to get Kontakt 6.8 to work flawlessly (it seems), however Kontakt 7.90 still crashes the system imediately so I have disabled it until there is a fix. It must directly be an NI issue I suppose. I'm not going to 14.5 beta 2 as I see there are problems...

Rebooting doesn’t do it. You have to shut down first.

Hmmmm... I'm tempted to try 14.5 b 2 as it still seems these Kontakt 7 issues must be on M2/M3 processors and don't affect M1 Macs.

Well, the crashing doesn't happen every time for me but the latency is intolerable. Sending more reports to NI and Apple.

Good god… “clean up on Aisle 5! And Aisle 6… add Aisle 9…” When did Mr. Bean take over NI?

I never got over the debacle that was Kontakt 7.6.0 (?). I think that was the one that totally messed up my system and even downgrading didn’t fix it. I ended up having to do a painful full restore.

Now I run Time Machine prior to installing any new version of Kontakt so I can restore my boot volume from an APFS snapshot. I don't see how NI is releasing software with such glaring issues?

Tried Kontakt 7.10.1 on Sonoma 14.4.1 on my M3max. I figured probably would still not work because the OS needs an update...but tried anyway. No dice, same crash as usual. Also happens when booted in safe mode. works fine in Logic, standalone. Have not bothered with Beta...will get by with Kontakt 6 and other amp sim software to replace guitar rig pro 7 for now. Wait and wait on them to sort this out. As this machine is on apple care, tried with Apple support for a bit, mainly to get across my displeasure at how a .xx release security update could break pro level software so badly that people rely on to make a living. I voiced that displeasure to NI as well. Surely MOTU must have some role in this since Logic works fine. Except I can't stand using Logic compared to DP lol. Logic has got to be one of the most unintuitive DAWs...to do simple things you have to go searching...was trying to reorder tracks in the mixer....was like WTF is this lol. I hope DP survives and keeps getting updated. I'm unwilling to pay AVIDs yearly ransom fees. I could suffer though logic if forced...but DP really is my preferred DAW. But the bugginess is getting obnoxious. I'm willing to pay for an upgrade if the thing is stable and I can just get work done.

In the release notes for 7.10.0 NI states that Logic Pro crashes are a known issue and punts it back at Apple. Perhaps you just haven't given it enough time, I hate to say.
