\ key

I occasionally bump the \ key when I'm going for delete, since they're so close, and whenever I do DP will pause and become unresponsive for 5-15 seconds. Oddly, I looked through commands and found nothing mapped to this key. Anyone know what's going on?

mixing board auto-scroll to selected track

There used to be a feature (in DP5) where you could have the mixing board automatically scroll to the track selected in the sequence editor, which made for a nice consolidated layout having one channel strip open while editing. This seems to be gone in DP7, or is it? Can't find it anywhere.

motu upgrade policy (with pending releases)

Hi All, Still running DP5 here, which does the job, but isn't working well with my new 10.7 machine. DP7 looks great, but as DP8 may be around the corner, I'm wondering if MOTU has any history of giving recent upgraders a break on new releases - that is, if I upgrade to DP7 now, will I be able to ge...

Re: Audio Ease software and Lion

FYI, I did finally hear back from Audio Ease. They sent me a link to updated Speakerphone installers that work on Lion. Doesn't look like Altiverb has this option, though I don't own it so I can't say for sure.

Audio Ease software and Lion

Hi all, I own Speakerphone 2, from Audio Ease (the Altiverb folks), and am trying to install it on Lion with no success - their installer is still PowerPC. Unfortunately my old machine, running 10.6, has died, and so I'm forced to use 10.7. Anyone have any advice to offer? It is pretty frustrating t...

DP5: make time formats stick

This has been bugging me for ages, and I'm wondering if there is a solution. I do a lot of projects in which I do not want to use bars and beats as my main ruler, but instead real time or frames. However, when I change the time formats this information does not seem to get saved with the project, an...

Behringer ADA8000 (supposed to sound good for the money)

These are more $$$:
Apogee Rosetta 800
Lynx Aurora
RME ADI-8

Some FW interfaces like the RME ones have unlimited patching options too.

I worked with an sv-3700 that had s/pdif (coaxial and optical, I think) as well as aes/ebu. Are you sure it doesn't have s/pdif out? It should be next to the aes connectors.

You're having this problem because CueMix does NOT affect the computer audio in any way. When you turn down a bus, all you are doing is turning down any input to output hardware routing you have set up. Send something to your main outs (or any outputs), then open cue mix, set a bus and set it to mai...

if you email MOTU they will respond with specs, which I think are for the converter chips taken alone. However, I would not buy something based on specs but rather on how it sounds, or, if you can't listen, the opinions of others and some reviews. One spec that MOTU is misleading about is the gain o...

Unless they updated something recently cuemix does NOT accept MIDI commands other than from a HUI or device that can emulate one. Cue mix gives you 4 stereo "busses". each bus can be assigned to any output pair, and within each bus you can set levels, pan, etc. for any input channel. You c...

not only are these misprints in the manual, they're on motu's web site and in the print ads in magazines, or at least they used to be. they also lied to me about the gain on the mic pres (confirmed in an email that they provided +60 db when this is totally not true).
