Re: Opinions on Miroslav Philharmonik 2 CE?

A pretty good chunk of that lib got put into SampleTank one version ago, maybe even more of it in current version, but I don't think the wind/breath controller mappings made it.

Re: Ozone 11 Upgrade $129??!!!

Ah, I forgot you were talking about Standard vs. Pro, and on its own vs. a not-so-suite deal. Even so, with all the quality plugs out there now from folks like Sonible, that are much cheaper and more advanced in most ways, the selling point for a $100 upgrade on an iZotope product has to be in the q...

Re: Ozone 11 Upgrade $129??!!!

The Music Production Suite upgrade is several hundred dollars. So much for loyalty. Both Ozone and Nectar are updated. I could now kick myself for not prioritizing preparing my iZotope licenses for sale last weekend, but I had too many top priorities to deal with at once. The rate of quasi-updates i...

Re: Consolidation marches on. Looks like Avid may be bought...

Some on GS posted a hugely verbose article from another site, that said even less than the one I posted. :-) But James is right, that talking about going private is an important fact amidst what otherwise is word salad. As someone who has worked in both public and private companies, I am fully aware...

Re: OWC 14-port Thunderbolt Dock on sale until 8/14

My experience has been the opposite, even when they replaced my first one under warranty terms. Very frequently, anything attached to it simply fails to be seen by any part of macOS even when digging in to the command line. Now that eLicenser has gone away (I had to have three of them, plus iLok!), ...

Re: Consolidation marches on. Looks like Avid may be bought...

This article today about the closing of the sale of Avid to STG seems to be an example of how to say a lot without saying anything. The shareholders are happy, so I guess that's what counts. https://www.mixonline.com/business/breaking-avid-acquired-for-1-4-billion?utm_term=F5289DEA-472F-45E3...

Re: Consolidation marches on. Looks like Avid may be bought...

Wow, I had somehow missed the connection to the Soundwide buyout and merger of NI, Plugin Alliance, iZotope. But as the author says, it is unlikely that Avid would be folded into such an entity. Some great points in the article, and it was good to see alternatives listed, for the NI product family, ...

Re: Consolidation marches on. Looks like Avid may be bought...

Hard to say. They had started farming stuff out to contracting firms overseas and not many were left in the core Pro Tools team. But of course there are other products, and video is a bigger cash cow than audio. Additionally, there's always the question of what happens to Sibelius. Although I've cea...

Re: Consolidation marches on. Looks like Avid may be bought...

Yep, I saw that yesterday via a regular email update from Mix Magazine, but forgot to post it, or maybe decided not to as it is so lacking in information. Hopefully we'll know more within the coming week. Some of you know that during one of their consolidation phases, the Pro Tools team was pushed f...

Re: Cittern, anyone?

Many years ago, I commissioned a custom Cittern from Montana, probably Weber but it's too long ago (it wasn't Flatiron). I sold it to a specialty player in the Sierra Nevada a few years later after concluding I would never have time to master it. I may still have an email receipt or other data I can...

New update released today. I didn't read the notes so don't know if it is meant to address the platform issue.

Re: DP 11.22 is the crashiest app I have.

Oh wow, that might be why several of my reverbs were crashing earlier! I've recently taken to using mono-to-stereo reverbs with HPF's, LPF's and low shelfs, as a way to give a natural stereo spread of controlled frequency ranges vs. using image widener plugins. But once I pushed my mon o-to-stereo p...

Re: Best/Most Economical way to increase ports for monitors on M1 Max Mac Studio?

I've been holding off on posting, as I thought I had lost the link to a new-to-me aftermarket add-on manufacturer who I discovered by accident a couple of weeks ago. Turns out that I did bookmark their site in a less-used browser, so I found the link today for one example unit amongst their collecti...

Re: New PSP PianoVerb Installer installs Intel Only AU by mistake

As I wrote to them about a similar issue with another update last month (I forget which one) and they were on it with an updated and corrected installer set the next day, I hope for your sake that the same happens for PianoVerb.
