Re: I think my PCI card is fried

Do you have the correct drivers installed? The drivers are a little bit OS finicky so you will need to match them to what you are running. Try that first -- you may not have a problem. You also don't say which PCI card you have. The 324 isn't supported past 10.3.7 (although I got mine working under ...

Agreed.

Also, upgrade DP to 5.13

Re: Audio drops out when moving the UltaLite-mk3

> It basically is acting like it got disconnected even though its connected just fine.< Uh... no, it's not "connected just fine". Your unit shouldn't do that. This could be anything from a bad cable, bad power strip (I see this one a lot ) to an internal connector not seated correctly when...

Re: Is it possible to get Adat Sync to work with Cubase 5

>I have no problems using Adat Sync in Audio Desk.< Indicates MOTO hardware as AudioDesk doesn't work with anything else. Of course, you haven't told us what hardware and how you are trying to use it. As for Cubase5, it probably works but a Cubase support group is your best bet for the nuts and bolt...

Re: 8pre line input quality vs ultralite?

With any of the MOTU products, DI functionality is present only when you have a Combo jack - a 3-pin XLR with a hole in the middle for 1/4" phone. This is true for most modern audio gear (but not all - some combo jacks are still mic/line). The UltraLite & 828MkII/III have two, the Traveller...

Re: At what point is arranging becoming original music?

FWIW, if I had it to do over again I be ASCAP as a composer and BMI as a publisher. You can be a publisher member of ASCAP, BMI and SESAC (under three company names, of course). You may belong to only one as a writer member, however and the publisher of your songs must belong to the same PRO. Songw...

Re: Opinions: Song contest rules unfair?

OK, I am not a lawyer but I am pretty sure that ABC/Disney lawyers didn't write contest rules that violate the Copyright law and a few California statutes. Someone did, however . This is why step four would go exactly as planned. There is a major blunder and a few minor ones in those rules. Any lett...

I do not have to be a lawyer...

Re: speeches

There is no Copyright on anything created by a government agency or person in official capacity. This doesn't mean you can use just anything as sometimes security laws apply - classified information is one example. As for non-government public figures, you either need clearances from the rights hold...

Re: Opinions: Song contest rules unfair?

Exactly. Step one: Win the contest Step two: Run the contract - and there will be one - past an entertainment lawyer pointing out concerns about rights, ownership and 'in perpetuity'. The lawyer will bring in a Copyright attorney to clarify if not qualified to practice Copyright law. The attorney wi...

Q: Why doesn't Apple set all Macs up this way... A: Because, for the average user, it is not necessary. In any case, for many of us (myself included) it's a good idea to have a small partition on a backup drive (ideally) or the main drive for running repair/maintenance utilities. Disk Warrior once a...
