Audio analyzer tools (DM-RTA) or ...?
I have a new 828 (2024 version) and I do 5.1 audio work for video creation and in the past I used a rather simple method to balance the 6 channels. That method was place Microphone with dB reader display on a tripod where listening location will be, have my PC generate pink noise, and measure the dB...

Re: New 828 (2024), garbled noise and firmware update error, completely useless unit?
Hi Mike, You forgot the charging capacity also 60W, 100W, 120W ... yes it's a big mess. But what I found odd is that my MOTU M6 worked just fine with my USB-C HUB, the 828 does not. This is the hub I'm using: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BND5487P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&...

Re: New 828 (2024), garbled noise and firmware update error, completely useless unit?
USB C to USB A cable should do the job. I tried that, unfortunately that didn't help, doesn't even see the 828 when I try that approach. BUT, I did find that I do actually have TWO USB-C ports from my motherboard not just one. So I have my USB-C hub in one port and the 828 direct to the other port....

Re: New 828 (2024), garbled noise and firmware update error, completely useless unit?
I got it working with a different USB-C cable and direct plug into my PC USB-C port. However, it will NOT work if I plug into my USB-C hub. This is going to present a problem as I have only ONE USB-C port on my PC and I need to have other devices (Blackmagic Design panels for use in DaVinci Resolve)...

New 828 (2024), garbled noise and firmware update error, completely useless unit?
I have opened a ticket with MOTU support, but thought I'd try here. Connected the USB-C cable MOTU provided to my PC USB-C port. I installed the drivers (95029). I plugged in my 828. I powered on my 828. Checked Win11 sound settings default to MOTU. Tried to play some audio and the sound was horribl...

Re: UltraLite AVB resets to 100% volume (0dB)?
To be clear MOTU audio quality has never been a problem for me, low latency and great mic adjustability. I actually changed my order and have a EVO 8 (USB C) that should arrive on Thursday ... these days the software side of an audio interface is often more important than the actual hardware since e...

Re: UltraLite AVB resets to 100% volume (0dB)?
I'm a software engineer by profession (34+ years) ... it's a MOTU driver problem not a chipset problem, nor an Intel problem. You did hit the nail on the head, MOTU need to keep up with the times and update their drivers. Like I said, it's a USB device and I've plugged it into several different comp...

Re: UltraLite AVB resets to 100% volume (0dB)?
Several issues: 1. Took a long time to get a response going thru MOTU TechLink (Eamon Wick) 2. The diagnostics process was just a repeat of what I've already tried (re-install drivers, windows updates, check firmware, latest BIOS/chipset, etc.) 3. Ended with a suggestion I re-install Windows OS I po...

Re: UltraLite AVB resets to 100% volume (0dB)?
I'm dumping the MOTU. MOTU's support staff have been completely useless unfortunately. I've gone with a PreSonus Studio 26c.
Cheers, Rob.

Re: UltraLite AVB resets to 100% volume (0dB)?
Many thanks for the response. I only have good opinions of PreSonus as I own some of their monitors and interfaces and remote control station. I guess the irony with the MOTU is that their delayed 3 second (pain in arse) shutdown hold and press button is supposed to help prevent power pops. Oddly th...

UltraLite AVB resets to 100% volume (0dB)?
I've had an intermittent problem with my Motu UltraLite(s) AVB for a few years (since I purchased actually). About every other Month when I start my PC the volume will go to 0dB (Max) and blow out my speakers and ear drums. I've already trashed two expensive Genelec monitors because of this problem....

Ultralite AVB and Routing to PC?
I'm trying to get the "Line" under the Win10 "Recording" tab to work (from the OS Sound dialog box). See pic: http://robainscough.com/images/a81b6e18d17defd56dcb218880fc8bdf.jpg I'm running Win10 64bit ... I use nVidia ShadowPlay to record video presentations and the software oft...
