Re: MIDI malfunction
I actually tried switching from a pad with long release to a piano, which naturally has a short release first, which seemed to solve the issue. Then I suddenly realised I should just turn Local off. Never mind...

MIDI malfunction
I am using an old Yamaha PSR530 home keyboard in the MIDI input of my 828es. When I play notes on the PSR530, the notes continue to sustain. I came across an issue similar to this before. I believe it was a setting in DP, but I can't remember what I changed. Any ideas?

Re: 828es and Mac OS 14 Sonoma
Vut a long story short: I was forced to wipe the SSD and reinstall Mac OS Mojave, then upgrade to Ventura. However, when I ran the Time Machine backup, it hadn't completely restored everything, and I've had to download/reinstall a few things. Because I forgot my apple ID password, Apple made me wait...

Re: sticky residue on 828es knobs after removing from storage
I was able to pull the knobs off, then spray them with foam air cleaner and rub them until the crap came off.

sticky residue on 828es knobs after removing from storage
After about 6 months of keeping my gear in storage, I opened my rackmount case to find the knobs on my 828es are sticky. The only other device in there is my power conditioner, which doesn't have this issue, although that still had the factory films on them. I removed those, and the ends of the retr...

828es and Mac OS 14 Sonoma
Hi, I was told by MOTU Support that DP11 and my 828es are compatible with Mac OS 14.0. I downloaded/installed the via latest version of DP11 and that appears to work, except it does not see the 828es anymore. There is no Mac OS 14.0 driver listed on MOTU's site. Well, I upgraded to Mac OS 14.0, and ...

Restrictions on how many insert plugins can be displayed
I'm not referring to how many use can insert per channel, I mean how many plugin windows can remain visable at the same time. It would seem the number of monitors I use is irrelevant (1x HDMI, 1xVGA). Lets say I use 7 inserts, 1 on each track. 6 were dragged over to the VGA monitor. But clicking one...

Re: Increasing tempo display size
I wasn't even aware I could have multiple tempo changes in a project. I guess I'm just so used to Roland VS recordersFMiguelez wrote:Use the conductor track in the SE window to see tempo changes graphically. You can set that as big as you want.

OOPS! Somebody please move this topic to the Mac section. How it wound up in Windows, I don't know.

Re: Is it worth upgrading the RAM?
Also which AUs and how you use them can make a difference. If possible, large VIs should be in their own instance of the host player. That will spread the CPU demand across the various cores. But more RAM is never a bad idea. In their own instance? I usually just go to Add Track > Instruments with ...

Re: Is it worth upgrading the RAM?
So, I am correct to make the compromise in using VI's in Standalone Mode, and buy more RAM to satisfy DSP-hungry effects plugins?

Is it worth upgrading the RAM?
I have a 2018 Mac Mini, quad core 3.6GHZ and 8GB RAM. I use my Mac for music making, internet and watching movies. Not all at once. DP10 does tend to struggle with DSP when using AU plugins, some more than others. So, will adding more RAM make a difference? I was thinking of 32 or 64GB (64 is the ma...

Increasing tempo display size
By this, I mean both bar and number of just the tempo, not the whole project window. Ideally, I would like to have the tempo the same size as the time display. I'm sick of having to squint at it.

Re: Can't save plugin presets
I've only just started getting this issue with certain 3rd party plugins in DP10. I'm happy to say your procedure worked, so thanks!
