Surely MOTU must have some role in this since Logic works fine. Except I can't stand using Logic compared to DP lol. Logic has got to be one of the most unintuitive DAWs. Tried Kontakt 7.10.1 on Sonoma 14.4.1 on my M3max. I figured probably would still not work because the OS needs an update...but tried anyway. No dice, same crash as usual. Also happens when booted in safe mode. works fine in Logic, standalone. Have not bothered with Beta...will get by with Kontakt 6...

It’s not just Kontakt, also guitar rig pro 7. Happens with no monitors connected.

I haven't tested Logic a ton, I just know I can get Kontakt 7 and Guitar Rig Pro 7 to launch and make sound, where as in DP they crash immediately. further testing 14.4.1....Kontakt 7 works fine in logic, no crashes, can load and play sounds. It's a DP NI thing in my case.

Further testing...14.4.1 . I take back what I said about guitar rig pro 7 working in DP...I get the same crash as Kontakt 7 still. So Kontakt 7 and Guitar Rig Pro 7 seem to be the only issues I'm having on my system so far. Something with NI, DP, Apple OS......

14.4.1 did fix my issues in Logic. (ilok issues I believe) Guitar rig pro 7 now seems to work in DP which would crash the computer like Kontakt 7. But Kontakt 7 still immediately crashes my m3 max if you open an instance in DP.

Further testing. Tried Kontakt 7 and guitar rig pro in Logic. Both work fine, but many other plugs are broke ( I suspect the ilok issue). On the whole more is broke in Logic. But this NI DP bug seems specific to DP. One other thing, I migrated my account from my m1max to the m3max machine. Not sure ...

I'm pretty sure MAS never supported pre-gen. Maybe MOTU has figured out a way to do that with their own stock plug-ins (which are now stored inside the DP application bundle). I suppose I could check, but again, pretty sure that was a drawback of using the MAS format: no pregen. Maybe that's change...
