Re: Two Issues
Thanks Mike, as always, hoped you'd find the thread! Following up: 2. Thanks for the info on HDDs cooking. I actually very rarely boot up in the HDD and don't use it for documents etc. so hopefully that keeps the cooking down, though I have noticed that sometimes the iMac can get very hot. I did not...

Two Issues
Hi, Was going to ask a tech question and then just discovered another hard disk issue so am trying for a two-fer here. 1. I just realized I lost one of my VI drives, an HD with two partitions. One of the partitions still mounts on the Desktop, but the other does not. I was able to perform Disk Repai...

Re: DP10 speculation?
I'm not plagued by it like some are, but the CPU spikes, whatever is causing that is a real PITA. DP performs as good or better than most other DAWs in terms of actual CPU use, (the current version of DP9 beats the current version of Logic X in my set up for instance), but the occasional Kontakt or...

Re: Project unreadable with DP9.52 but fine with 9.02
Not to hijack, but after spending four months with 9.52, I decided to go back to 9.02. Processor-hungry VIs can cause crackles and dropouts in 9.52 when playing live, not in 9.02, even when nothing else is loaded and playing, simple as that. Otherwise everything is the same, but I found it so annoyi...

Re: Formatting New Samsung SSD
Hi Mike, Thanks so much....very informative. And thanks for reminding me about non HS systems being able to see an APFS drive. I still have Sierra on my HD drive in my iMac. Don't boot from it very often these days, but might be wise to keep that option by just having the SSD be a regular Mac OS Jou...

Re: Formatting New Samsung SSD
The Samsung utilities are for Windows. How are you connecting this to your Mac? It's connected USB via a Thunderbolt 2 Dock from OWC. There is a software installer for Mac as well as PC. Don't know if it's USB 3 or 2, come to think of it, not at my home unit now. At least it shows on the desktop an...

Formatting New Samsung SSD
Hi, Just got a new Samsung T5. It ships exFat, read it was better to convert to Mac OS, and even better to install High Sierra to convert it to APFS. I've erased it to be MacOS journaled, but when I try to install High Sierra it says that it is not GUID partitioned. One tutorial on formatting drives...

Re: Computer not recognizing external SSD
No, it doesn't have an installer. It's an OWC Envoy Pro 1T, which has worked great until now. It may be that I ejected the drive just before DP finished booting down, and is now eternally confused. At any rate after calling support at OWC I tried Disk Utility and Internet Recovery to no avail. Suppo...

Computer not recognizing external SSD
Yikes, hope someone can help. I unhooked my external OWC SSD vi drive last night, after dismounting it from the desktop, to use with my laptop this morning. I was busy plugging in my little keyboard and plugging the drive in to the laptop this morning as it was booting up, hope I didn't plug it in a...

Re: Waves v10 Update
Although I probably have a few plugs that I bought during the past year, I just decided to WUP the whole lot to get it over with, and to take advantage of the $225 cap (less at your favorite plugin dealer). There's a lot of Waves plugs I never use, but more than a handful of plugs I couldn't do with...

Re: Digital Performer 9.52 released today
Did this start with a template? If so, maybe try a template created in 9.5.2. Interesting idea. I'll try that. You mean I have to create a new template from scratch, not just copy an old one? Well, bayswater, you may have actually solved my problem. I made a new template from scratch in 9.52, copyi...

Re: Digital Performer 9.52 released today
It's good that DP supposedly now recognizes files with both AIFF and aiff cap and non-cap. That one drove me nuts for awhile. Also encouraging, I upgraded to both High Sierra and DP 9.52 on my MBP yesterday. What has bothered me in 9.5.X is that although pre-gen seems to make DP run more efficiently...

Re: OS 10.13. your experience
It took a little sorting out in the beginning, big breakthrough was discovering (here on MOTUnation!) that disabling the VSTs in DP allowed my UAD plugs to work properly.
I haven't booted up my Sierra partition in weeks now. Running smoothly for me!
