Re: consolidating onto new Mac Pro from old Mac Pro plus 3 Windows PCs -- your opinion on VE Pro settings
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think it's not wrong to say that nobody is 100% certain what the best approach is. However, sifting through these posts and some others, and speaking with some buddies, a few guidelines seemed to emerge: 1. Many instances ok with few audio outs / instance -- I...

Quickscribe Tip: eliminate extra bars in Quickscribe at end of sequence
Hi all, Chief issue: Quickscribe displays extra bars beyond the end of the piece; sometimes hundreds of them! Solution: 1. Open any track using Quickscribe; 2. Under mini-menu (upper right), select Options; 3. Using pull-down menu, select last item, "Set Score Length" and choose "Fixe...

Thanks! Ideally I would wait, but have a job under way and have to move fast.

consolidating onto new Mac Pro from old Mac Pro plus 3 Windows PCs -- your opinion on VE Pro settings
Hi everyone, I'm starting a new project and will be consolidating from four computers (one older Mac Pro plus three PCs) to one new Mac Pro M2. Your Opinion Please To consolidate VE Pro down from four computers to one, would you recommend: 1. About 25-35 instances, with three really big instances th...

Re: I'm looking for paid consultant to help me w/ DP & EastWest
Hi Alicia, Nice to meet you. I wonder if the issue could be Sonoma, at least in part? I am waiting to move from Ventura, as a good bit of the software I use is not fully checked out for Sonoma. I"ve been using East West and DP for a long, long time. I wonder if you could describe what issue you...

Re: assigning movie (shift V) crashes DP v11.23
Couldn't readily convert from QT but I tried it with an MP4 file and it's fine, notwithstanding the fact that the MP4 file is at 44.1 and I'm at 48k
Pretty surprised that it's not working with a .MOV file however. The .MOV file is at 48k.
Hmm.

assigning movie (shift V) crashes DP v11.23
Hello there, I've started a new project and am having crashes. Selecting a Movie file (.mov) instantly crashes DP. Not doing anything unusual, and these are movie files that in some cases I've used to sketch with previously. Specs DP version 11.23 94219 Mac OS 13.6.1 Ventura 16 core, lots and lots o...

Re: Big Sur + DP11.03 +VE Pro 7 have a problem?
Looks as though it's Kaspersky Internet Security -- it didn't cause problems in the past but turning it off fixed everything.
Hopefully I can figure out settings that will allow it to be on.
Thanks anyway,
John

Big Sur + DP11.03 +VE Pro 7 have a problem [solved?]
Hi there, I'm getting stutters and red in the "Real time" bar in DP all of a sudden. Symptoms: 1. Locally-loaded (VE Pro on Mac Pro with DP) sounds work fine; 2. Satellite PC-loaded (VE Pro 7 on Windows 10 PC, updated this week) -- "Real time" meter runs right up to red, many stu...

Re: MAS folder empty -- plugins a mess (iTunes update culpri
There is still a central question, which is: "What caused the plugins to disappear?" I didn't move anything or delete anything. When the update for Digital Performer was released, I installed the standard install and didn't try to customise it. I have written three hours of music on this r...

Re: MAS folder empty -- plugins a mess (iTunes update culpri
Luckily I had a very recent disk image of my boot drive and was able to copy them from the relevant folders into my current drive. If you don't have that you may be in for a lot of re-installing?jimchik wrote:Help is greatly appreciated.
Downside is I can't link my phone and iTunes until some Future Date.

Re: MAS folder empty -- plugins a mess (iTunes update culpri
As pointed out, DP plugins do not belong in the users/Library directory. No installer puts them there. The correct path is Library/Audio/Plug-ins Bruv -- I can see you're knowledgeable about DP but I promise you I didn't do anything weird when installing. The installer put them where it put them. I...

Re: MAS folder empty -- plugins a mess (iTunes update culpri
Hi Dave, I am not sure iTunes actually did it -- but something definitely erased all the MAS and all but one (?) of the Component files. I mentioned the iTunes update because it's the only change I could think of that I made to that computer yesterday. You're right about there being two different pl...
