Re: Farewell to MachFive 3?
Falcon can read M53 files, pretty sure the UVI Workstation can as well. Thanks everyone - I got Falcon for the cross-trade deal mentioned above ($179 and you get a $100 voucher), and it opens all M5p and M5m files. UVI Workstation no longer does this. But Falcon is working very well for me at the m...

Re: Farewell to MachFive 3?
Hi Rick, This doesn't work for me - it creates a MachFive .M5p program file and a folder with the samples in. Am I missing something? Does UVI Workstation or Falcon open .M5p program files directly? That will be great - I'll try UVI Workstation... Thanks... I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea ...

Farewell to MachFive 3?
Instructions are on page 72 of the MachFive 3 user guide. Choose "Save Program and Samples" and MF3 will create a .ufs file of the program and a folder with the same name that contains any needed samples. You can open that .ufs file in UVI Workstation or Falcon. Actually that doesn't seem...

Re: Farewell to MachFive 3?
I've still got M5v3 working on Mojave, but just discovered that it crashes the new iLok version of VE Pro - unfortunately I have hundreds of old projects that may have to be revived if clients wish, which have M5v3 in VE Pro. The only way open these old projects is to delete the M5v3 component, then...

Re: Video out to Hd Monitor
I've been using a G5 sitting next to my MacPro just to play video - by setting up a separate DP project in the G5 to play the video from, and syncing them using MTC over the network. And then I use a DVI-HDMI converter to plug in a big LCD screen, as second monitor, to the G5, and drag the QT into t...

Got rid of the mixer? What takes it's place?
Like a lot of people who still have mixers (I imagine), here we only use our old 02Rs for mike preamp/AD, talkback/foldback, and digital summing during mixing (i.e. all the channels stay at 0dB and mix is actually done in Digital Performer). Our 02Rs are over 10 years old and have been worked in to ...

Re: DP 7 Issues - changing between 44.1 & 48khz
Anybody have a problem where DP7 encounters problems and sometimes stalls completely, when opening up a project in a different frequency than the previous project? It happens every time I do it, and I have to do it quite a lot, as we're working on TV stuff at 48 and CD stuff at 44.1.

Re: DP7, SL & Play Is it working?
There is definitely an issue with Play in DP7 with SL. It doesn't crash all the time, but a lot. And the log points to Play issues. Kernel Failure - bad access or something that I don't understand...

Re: Do's ans Don't's for a Crash free DP
It seems fairly obvious that people use DP in such different ways that getting a consensus is near impossible. A few people have reported no problems whatsoever, however it does also seem clear that a lot of people are experiencing serious problems with 6, and this can't be imagination. Although .02...

Okay - a day and a half. That didn't last long. Switching to the mixing board, which has caused a lot of crashes for me...celestial wrote: I haven't had a crash for two days. Touch wood.

Re: omnispheres and DP 6.01
Running all plugins in real-time will prevent the Omnisphere "close-the-window" 100% repeatable crash - but not the BTD one.

Re: Do's ans Don't's for a Crash free DP
I have to agree with those above who are experiencing overly frequent crashes on Intel/Leopard/6.01 - compared with the stability of our G5/Tiger/5.13 setups. And having to work every day on different jobs for different clients means that we don't have time to be re-installing software, removing plu...

Re: DP 6.01 behaving well anyone else?
I don't know what happened to the post re. Plugins that DP 6.0x doesn't like - but I've found another one - PSP Vintage Warmer 2 - which is a shame as it's one of my favourites... one of my fav plugs and i use it every day with 6.01!! Good to hear that Joe - so your system is fairly stable? We run ...
