Re: Do's ans Don't's for a Crash free DP
I thought it was a good example of how useful(less) chatgpt is when asked a question with a non obvious answer. Like a student who never attended class or read the book but knows a few of the words. But doesn’t have any value here.

Re: New computer, new woes!
As per Mactracker, that Mac originally had an earlier OS version (OS 13) when first introduced, so it is possible you could erase it, and install that version. But from looking at the issues discussed here, it doesn’t see that OS 14 introduced any issues, other than those later fixed, that weren’t p...

Re: Eventide/Newfangled Audio EQuivocate and Saturate updated
I see this is available at more than one site. I got it from Eventide, and going to check for this update, I noticed maintenance upgrade for most of their products.

Re: Audio Editor for Mac that can auto-truncate?
I was still convinced I could do this in DP. I tried it out, and it does some of is, but doesn't work on sound files that might have a spot of silence part way though. This splits the file into two files, when maybe all you want to do it it trim the start and end until the sound reaches a certain th...

Re: Audio Editor for Mac that can auto-truncate?
Interesting. DSP does just about everything in batch mode. Odd that it doesn't do trim silence.

Re: System Audio Recorder
I used to. Many threads about using BlackHole in Sonoma, none claiming it works. It may be possible that they've been fixed but I've had too many issues with it over the years to consider anything other than as a last resort. I deleted it when Soundflower started working again after I installed Toa...

Re: Audio Editor for Mac that can auto-truncate?
Can’t DP do this? The Strip Silence command has a threshold setting (along with attack and release times). If you use that, then select all the new soundbites, you can edge edit any of them and it will apply the same edge edit to all of them. You can zoom in and have the transport set to real time, ...

Re: System Audio Recorder
Doesn’t seem to me that capturing system audio is something we should have to pay for. Have you tried the free Blackhole virtual audio driver? Works OK on Monterey. I have it as a default in DP setup along with my Focusrite interface. Setting system audio output to Blackhole then makes the system au...

Re: What to Make of Mixbus 10
No improvements there. I went for the $29 update. Easy to pay for it, but finding the download is another thing. The receipts etc take you to the SSL Download Manager where you can find all the Harrison plugins, but not Mixbus 10. Even though that same app will show you that you bought it and gives ...

Jam Origin Beta
Jam Origin has released a beta of V3 of their Guitar to MIDI conversion software. I had two different hardware G to M hex pickups, and later tried the earlier versions of Jam Origin's app, which requires no additional hardware. I found no noticeable different in latency, but maybe a little less reje...

What to Make of Mixbus 10
If you have a version of mixbus you might have had a flood of update offers following the SSL takeover. I used it to do some types of mixes back when it was just a mix engine and you had to bus it to a DAW via JackOS. They’ve since turned it into a fairly complete DAW but I don’t see any advantages ...
