Re: Audio to MIDI

Just to be on the safe side, also check to make sure that the AU version of Melodyne is un-checked . Pretty sure it's possible to have both formats load at once and that could be confusing. I think I had both checked, and it seemed to work as it should, but your word of caution makes me want to go ...

Re: Chunks Window Insanity

Are you talking about re-ordering the chunks in the chunks window? It seems to work fine here. I click on the little block of cheese, and drag it slowly up or down, the others spread apart showing where it will go, then it goes there. I wonder if there's something about the mouse/trackpad settings t...

Re: The Upright from MusicalSampling $69 till June 18.

I have a lot of upright bass VIs and the one thing that most have in common is that I dislike them. This one is different and has a number of legato figures that I’ve already found useful. In addition, it has a selection of noises that you can add—pretty cool. Requires the paid version of Kontakt. ...

Re: Behringer 369 - Vintage Stereo Compressor Limiter

I own a bit of Behringer gear and have dumped more over the years. As long as you never need support or know the actual specs, you should be ok. I can count on one hand how many B-word products I've purchased. I think two were lemons that failed immediately, or with very little use. I suppose it's ...

Re: Audio to MIDI

If I'm not mistaken, DP's installer should take care of installing Melodyne. Did you see the instruction above where you have to go to: Digital Performer / Settings... / General / Audio plugins Then scroll down in the plugins list until you see the VST3 plugins start appearing in the list. Click on ...

Re: Audio to MIDI

With the advent of de-mixers (unmixers?), I should imagine the ability to get a good starting point on transcriptions would be pretty nice.

Thanks for linking the Spotify tool, 2/2. Will check it out.

Re: Audio to MIDI

There's an AU version and VST3 version. I hadn't bothered to try this feature (no need), so it flew under my radar. I didn't even realize it used the plugin. It will come in handy though-- especially for getting a rough start on something. In the quick test I did, it seemed to work pretty well (abou...

Enabling the VST3 version did the trick.

Thanks 2/2 & MH!!

Re: Audio to MIDI

The video shows Melodyne as an option. But in my DP (latest version), the Melodyne is greyed out; just as it is with @wilkinsi. I had recently installed a demo of Melodyne, and it might have caused some issues installing over DP's version of it (?). I guess I can try reinstalling DP, to see if that ...

AudioThing: Things: Fold dynamic wavefolder sale $9

The demo cleverly applied it kind of tastefully on different source material. The envelope follower makes it a much more useful thingy.

Re: Audio to MIDI

Yea, I'm seeing the same thing. Melodyne is greyed out. First time I've tried using it.

When I did render it using the available option, it didn't get the polyphonic bits.

Re: DP + Airfoil 2024?

Is running balanced audio cable out of the question?

I run audio around my house via an FM transmitter which has no latency-- but the fidelity is just ok.

Re: Behringer 369 - Vintage Stereo Compressor Limiter

Not sure what's going on, but when I opened that image in a separate tab, one of the knobs on the image came off, and I could swear I saw smoke coming out from behind. I had to wiggle the jack to get sound out of the right channel. As soon as I closed the tab, everything was ok again. :)

Re: DP + Airfoil 2024?

Latency with Airfoil is significant (in seconds, not ms). In the past, I recall it could do some latency compensation when working with some video formats, but not sure if that's still the case.

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase

Maybe ask directly whether they consider it a bug. My bet is they don’t I was actually reviving an older techlink wherein they did blame it on 3rd party VI's. But I tried to clarify in my update that this affects non-MAS plugins, that some tempos seemed to affect the issue, and uploaded an example ...
