Re: Audio to MIDI

With the advent of de-mixers (unmixers?), I should imagine the ability to get a good starting point on transcriptions would be pretty nice.

Thanks for linking the Spotify tool, 2/2. Will check it out.

Re: Audio to MIDI

There's an AU version and VST3 version. I hadn't bothered to try this feature (no need), so it flew under my radar. I didn't even realize it used the plugin. It will come in handy though-- especially for getting a rough start on something. In the quick test I did, it seemed to work pretty well (abou...

Enabling the VST3 version did the trick.

Thanks 2/2 & MH!!

Re: Audio to MIDI

The video shows Melodyne as an option. But in my DP (latest version), the Melodyne is greyed out; just as it is with @wilkinsi. I had recently installed a demo of Melodyne, and it might have caused some issues installing over DP's version of it (?). I guess I can try reinstalling DP, to see if that ...

AudioThing: Things: Fold dynamic wavefolder sale $9

The demo cleverly applied it kind of tastefully on different source material. The envelope follower makes it a much more useful thingy.

Re: Audio to MIDI

Yea, I'm seeing the same thing. Melodyne is greyed out. First time I've tried using it.

When I did render it using the available option, it didn't get the polyphonic bits.

Re: DP + Airfoil 2024?

Is running balanced audio cable out of the question?

I run audio around my house via an FM transmitter which has no latency-- but the fidelity is just ok.

Re: Behringer 369 - Vintage Stereo Compressor Limiter

Not sure what's going on, but when I opened that image in a separate tab, one of the knobs on the image came off, and I could swear I saw smoke coming out from behind. I had to wiggle the jack to get sound out of the right channel. As soon as I closed the tab, everything was ok again. :)

Re: DP + Airfoil 2024?

Latency with Airfoil is significant (in seconds, not ms). In the past, I recall it could do some latency compensation when working with some video formats, but not sure if that's still the case.

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase

Maybe ask directly whether they consider it a bug. My bet is they don’t I was actually reviving an older techlink wherein they did blame it on 3rd party VI's. But I tried to clarify in my update that this affects non-MAS plugins, that some tempos seemed to affect the issue, and uploaded an example ...

Re: Do's ans Don't's for a Crash free DP

IMOE, DP crashes are very uncommon. But I'm still learning to hit Cmd+S after any valuable change in a mix or after any great take. DP crashes all the time for me. And I have gotten pretty conditioned to save often. But lately, it is the auto-saves that have prevented lost work more than my manual ...

3 full weeks since I updated my techlink about the consecutive note bug. Not a peep from MOTU support on that topic. I think I was pretty polite about it. I'll ping them again today.

They did respond immediately to my feature request about some grid snap options.

Re: UJAM Amber 2 Steel String Acoustic Guitar VI - $19 with Code

Nice one. Thanks, James. Ordinarily, I don't bother with guitar sims because I can just track them myself, but recording at home now has practical obstacles, so this might prove useful. Though I can tell it's not entirely realistic, even with it's slight fake-ishness, it's an interesting and pleasan...

Re: Behringer 369 - Vintage Stereo Compressor Limiter

It's a pretty impressive concept, design, and feature set. That price is pretty friendly, too (perhaps the only "friendly" thing about B-word).

I bet they'll sell a bunch.

I saw one funny comment: "I'll wait for the Mk 2".
