Akai S3000 files

I've an old CD rom of samples (World Winds & World Travler) that are now in a format (Akai S3000) that I can't access. My system now is DP11, running on a Mac Book Pro on a M1 chip. I've still able to use my old system (on another computer) where Mach5 3 was able to run these samples, but with a...

Importing old sound banks

The other day, I decided to break out my old SC-88 and Micro-Piano and M1. Got them up and running but can not figure out how to get the sound banks to say other than Patch1, Patch2 etc... Do I need to buy a third party software for this or is there a way to to this in DP8? I remember older version ...

Re: Need some advice on buying a new Mac.

Everyone, Thanks for all your responses, I've learned a lot from what everyone has to say. And while I'm intrigued by the iMac with i7 processor, I feel it would be prudent to wait to see what the new line of Mac Pro's has to offer. I agree that the older line of Pro's is showing it's age, but it's ...

Re: Need some advice on buying a new Mac.

Thanks to you all for the advice. The iMac is tempting, and is more current the the Pro line (and it's hard to beat the real-estate of a 27" monitor). I will wait to see what happens with the Pro line this Spring, and see how competitive they become. But I'm now leaning toward a iMac, i7 proces...

Need some advice on buying a new Mac.

Hello everyone, I desperately need some input on buying a new Mac. Finally getting rid of my old system and am a bit confused on which way to go. I’ve looked at what everyone is using and I see a lot of diversity. The thing I’ve noticed the most stytems across the board is to get as much RAM as poss...

Re: Internal Hard Drive vs. External Firewire drive

It's just as easy to transfer from an internal, isn't it? I'd stick with internal for now, BigEcat. This way you're covered for possible FW protocol updates and will be better positioned to make an informed decision once you've seen which and how many ports your new machine offers. Makes sense, tha...

Internal Hard Drive vs. External Firewire drive

I'm going to buy a third storage unit to put my Performer files on. I'm already using two drives now: One for the OSX and Music apps, and one for my samples. I currently use the OSX HD for to run my audio files so it makes sense to get a third drive and lesson the strain on that HD. The reason I'm w...

Isn't this what "~ cmd" does? Or do you mean something else?
Thanks, I'll let you know if it's what I was looking for (Isn't that a U2 quote?). I'm not at my workstation right now so I'll have to check it out latter tonight.

This is from Photoshop.
Control+tab.
When you have a lot of windows open is cycles through them, and each time you hit the tab button a different window comes to the front. Great if you don't have a large monitor!

How much can we gain from knowing more about it ahead of time? And is what we might gain enough to negate the potential problems caused by fully "unveiling" the product before release My point is that it's not so much as when this is announced, but how. I believe that as a MOTU user, we, ...

Thank for all for your replies, they've made me think about what I posted, and now I••™m even more adamant about how I feel. My post was based on my involvement with other companies. I believe a company should always take care of the core audience first. I'm a big believer of the integrity of MOTU, ...
