Timing issues with DP MIDI & EastWest QLP

When using EastWest Quantum Leap Pianos as a VI in Digital Performer, I've recently noticed some odd timing issues. Specifically, on a given piano chord with all notes at exactly the same starting point ( whether the MIDI notes have been quantized or moved manually ) the notes will still not sound a...

Re: to SSD or not to SSD

Buzzy,
Have you noticed any increases in performance with the SSD other than boot time?

to SSD or not to SSD

I'm looking at adding another hard drive to my early 2008 Mac Intel. What got me started was wanting to update the OS to Mavericks. In the past I've lived dangerously and just installed the updates and upgrades. This time I'd like to copy the existing OS drive as a back up before the upgrade. I have...

Is my Early 2008 Mac Pro 64bit capable?

I'm itching to upgrade all of my software but was under the impression that my Early 2008 Mac Pro is not capable of 64 bit operation. The newest DP, Waves and most other of my softwares are now 64 bit. Can anyone tell me how to tell conclusively if my machine is 64bit capable? New in February 2008 D...

Studio and equipment valuation for divorce settlement?

My wife of 29 years recently left me. A real kick in the gut. I'm going to try to hold on to the studio if I can, as it's my primary source of income (if you want to call it income...). We need to have the recording studio and equipment valued for the settlement. Appraisers in my area flat out won't...

That was it. Don't know what I did to get it out of whack, but that fixed it.
Many thanks.

can't figure this out- any suggestions?

I've been working on a gospel quartet project for several weeks now. All I can figure is that I must've unknowingly used a key command or did something a while ago- and now the audio won't play when I click and hold on a soundbite to audition it, or when I highlight sections of audio for editing (wh...

Re: No such thing as a stupid question?

I'm aware of phase (time) alignment, but to keep it simple for this thread I wanted to address the positive vs. negative aspect of the wave forms. In some instances, time aligning after tracking improves the sound of the drum kit; in some instances it just sounds better leaving the time relationship...

No such thing as a stupid question?

One of the first things I do when setting up tracks for a session (especially on phase critical instruments like a drum kit) is to confirm that all tracks are in phase with one another. If any tracks are out of phase (the mic on the bottom of the snare for instance) I flip phase on the mic pre to co...

Re: Nomad Factory Integral Upgrade

I have nothing but high praise for the whole crew at Nomad Factory. A free ISP upgrade including Echos and Magnetic 1 & 2, top notch tech support... What more could you ask for! At first I had difficulty authorizing ISPIII. Thought it might have something to do with my previous ISP version being...
