Re: Major studio upgrade question please
Thank you once again for the wealth of information. Definitely helping me think through my options. Even though I don’t want to spend this much money on an interface, I’m considering UAD Apollo 8x for a few reasons. Quality of the converters, and ability to keep all of my current UAD plugins that I ...

Re: Major studio upgrade question please
Thank you Mike and HC! Very thoughtful and thorough information. A lot to think about. And new ways to organize, etc. I’ll contact UAD and see what they suggest. I assume I’ll need a new MIDI interface as well. So the journey begins. Thank you again .

Major studio upgrade question please
Hi all! Making a giant upgrade soon from my 2009 MacPro 12 core and 2408 mkll to an M2 Mac Studio..wondering what others have done in this situation? I know I need a thunderbolt audio interface, suggestions or thoughts are welcome. My biggest concern is some kind of breakout box to house three 1tb S...

Audio recording inconsistencies
Hi all. I recently bumped up to DP10. I think I like it but my MacPro (early2008) is probably the oldest to still make the cut. My issue is intermittent. When recording takes of audio, occasionally DP will record, then next take not record. Once this starts, it doesn’t change. Drives me batty, espec...

Recording audio works intermittently
I’ve had this issue ongoing for the last six months. It doesn’t always happen, but when it starts on a particular project it pretty much keeps happening. Sorry for the intro. This only happens with audio tracks, not MIDI. Let’s say I’m recording a bass guitar track, and I make one pass, everything r...

Re: CPU spikes, Audio dropout
James, you got me on the right track. Work priority lowered made it glitch a bit more. But I went back into "configure hardware driver" and changed my host buffer multiplier from 2 to 3 and WOW! Like night and day. Now I lowered the buffer setting to 256 where I can play and CPU usage is h...

CPU spikes, Audio dropout
Hi, Got a problem here. Work flow coming to a complete stop and I just don't get it. Spikes, dropouts, beachballs. I'm running DP 6.03 on a G5 2 gHz dualcore. OS 10.4.11 8GB ram, SAmples streaming from an esata drive. I have a project with 1 instance RMX, 1 instance Ivory 2(using an Ivory1 piano thoug...

CPU 127% and audio glitching
So here's my story and thanks to anyone in advance that may have an idea I haven't thought of yet. I'm running DP6.03 on a Mac G5 dualcore 2.5ghz with a 2408 MKll. I exported some audio tracks to my desktop to combine with another song(too hard too explain why right now).I imported them into a new p...

2408 MKll optical is gone??????
My 2408 doesn't see my digimax any longer. It's patched in via optical B, and has always worked. But the only light on my 2408 is the meter. In DP, only analog shows up on inputs. No adat. very weird. Re-installed DP6.02, repaired permissions. Hope I don't ned a new interface. Any suggestions are of...

Re: G5 and fans a blazin'
Thanks for the input. It was on automatic. I changed it to highest. I think I'll try setting it back to automatic again. This is a crazy problem, and quite annoying.

G5 and fans a blazin'
Hi all, I have for years left my dual 2GHz running day and night, no problem. Now when I do, after it's in sleep mode, I come back in the studio to fans roaring. Bummer. In the mean time after purchasing the new UAD-2 card, I was forced to kind of crossgrade to a @ 2GHz dualcore because of the PCIe ...

Help w/ eSata drive PCIexpress
Hi all, I recently purchased the new UAD card, and in doing so have had to change computers(YUK) completely from a dual 2GHz to a 2 GHz dual core(didn't have the money yet for the Mac pro). All things now changing from PCI to PCI express. DOUBLE YUK. Anyway my issue is I have an Acomdata 250GB eSAta...
